The Department of Transport (DoT) will once again open the doors of three Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) centres for an extended Saturday trading hours blitz.
Cannington, City West, and Mirrabooka DVS centres will open on Saturdays from 25 January to 15 February between 7.15am to 2.15pm exclusively for driver and vehicle transactions.
Services such as NDIS, marine, dealer transactions, and Practical Driving Assessments (PDAs) are not available during these extended hours.
Short stints of Saturday trading hours were introduced by DoT as successful blitzes in June-July and September-October 2024, aimed at reducing wait times for the community, relieving pressure on staff on weekdays and providing flexible options for customers.
A total of 9,484 customers were served at Cannington, City West and Mirrabooka during the 2024 Saturday blitzes.
The extended Saturday hours have been welcomed by customers who appreciate the convenience of not having to take time off work or school to attend a centre, while DVS staff reported positive interactions with customers.
